The Lull after Submission (and no I’m not talking BDSM)

I’ve been absent here and I apologize (although trust me, I’m worse at FB!).  I have been a busy writer.  Seriously.

I finished the third and final book in the “Better Than..” series (hooray! hooray!) and a short story for the Valentine collection at Dreamspinner Press (featuring Aaron and Matt).  Completing both projects was immensely satisfying but also… strangely anticlimactic or maybe sad is the better word.  I’m happy with the work but the waiting part is difficult, and I miss the guys already.  The best cure is to start writing immediately.  So I that’s what I’ve done.

I’m only a couple thousand words into my WIP but I like how it’s forming.  I won’t give any details (I don’t have many to give at under 5K written) but I will say the boys live on my coast.  In fact, the story takes place ten minutes down Pacific Coast Hwy from me in Southern California.  I was hoping they’d tell me they’re from San Fran, but alas we’re practically neighbors.

Unfortunately after one terrifically productive day starting my newest book, I’ve fallen into a lull.  A trance like state where I’m not truly engaged with my new world yet and I’d rather not deal with the real one.  It was bound to happen but I’m looking for a spark of inspiration to fire me up so I can concentrate on what my new MCs are trying to tell me.  If I can get there before the holiday madness begins I’ll be able to navigate the two worlds more easily and still decorate, cook and shop like a pro.   Wish me luck.

I’m leaving you with my inspiration for Peter Morgan who you’ll remember is Jay’s boyfriend in “Better Than Good”.  Jay and Peter’s story will be released in early 2014 and I’m about to begin the editing process.  I love Peter and Jay!  And wow… is this guy hot or what?Image
